Committee tasked with updating National Essential Medicines List begins its work

Shaheed El Hafed, August 3, 2026 (SPS) – The committee tasked with updating the National Essential Medicines List began its work on Sunday under the supervision of the Central Directorate of Medicines and Medical Equipment, in cooperation with the international organization Médecins du Monde (Doctors of the World), according to the Ministry of Public Health.

The process brings together Sahrawi physicians and pharmacists specializing in the field, as well as members of the Cuban Medical Mission.

The National Essential Medicines List is reviewed and updated every two years, during which new medicines are added and medicines that are no longer in use are removed.
