Boumerdes Province, August 20, 2026 (SPS) – The 14th edition of the Summer University for Executives of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi State concluded today, Thursday, in Boumerdes Province.
The event was hosted by the Boumerdes province from August 10 to 20, 2026, under the theme “Self-determination and independence are an inalienable and non-negotiable right,” with broad participation from Sahrawi executives representing various components of the national body.
The closing ceremony was attended by National Secretariat member, Prime Minister, Mr. Bushraya Hamoudi Beyoun, President of the Summer University, National Secretariat member, Minister of Cooperation, Ms. Fatma Mahdi, Boumerdes Province Wali Ms. Naama Fouzia, President of the Algerian Committee of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People Dr. Saeed Ayachi, as well as Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to Algeria Mr. Khatri Addouh, local authorities, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria, and civil society representatives.
Throughout its sessions, the Summer University provided a platform for training, capacity-building, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise through a series of lectures, seminars, and discussions addressing political, legal, media, social, and economic issues, as well as topics related to developments concerning the national cause and ways of strengthening the capacities of Sahrawi executives.
During the closing ceremony, President of the Summer University Ms. Fatima Mahdi expressed the Sahrawi people's gratitude for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to the participants. She praised the valuable lectures delivered throughout the university and thanked the various institutions and bodies that contributed to the success of this edition.
For his part, President of the Algerian Committee of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, Dr. Saeed Ayachi, highlighted the pedagogical importance of the Summer University and commended the efforts of all parties that contributed to its success. The Wali of Boumerdes, meanwhile, reaffirmed the province's readiness to continue hosting future editions of the event.
The 14th edition concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continuing this important event as an opportunity to strengthen the capacities of Sahrawi executives, exchange expertise, and consolidate the bonds of communication, cooperation, and solidarity between Algeria and the Sahrawi Republic.
