Shaheed El Hafed, March 11, 2025 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, received today, Tuesday, at the Presidency of the Republic, members of the Preparatory Committee for the 10th Congress of the Workers' Union. The meeting was attended by the head of the Political Organization Secretariat, the Prime Minister, and members of the National Secretariat and the government.
The President of the Republic noted that the convening of the Workers' Congress comes at a significant time marked by the continuation of the liberation war amidst an unstable international system and numerous challenges. He emphasized that the struggle and resilience will continue until the freedom and sovereignty of the Sahrawi people are achieved.
For his part, a member of the National Secretariat and head of the Political Organization Secretariat, Amrabih Mami Dai, highlighted that the purpose of this meeting is to review the work and preparations of the committee and to exchange views on ways to ensure the success of the committee's work and the upcoming 10th Congress of the Workers' Union.
Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Workers' Union, Salama Bashir, outlined the stages of the committee's formation and the meetings it has held since its founding meeting on February 3, 2025. He also reviewed the final touches and the international trade union participation in the event, which will be hosted by the wilaya of Dakhla in April.
