Shaheed Al-Hafed, May 16, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi government appreciated the decision of the Diplomatic Forum for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, to hold its fifth regular session amongst the Sahrawi people.
The Sahrawi government, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Information, explained that a high-level delegation representing the Diplomatic Forum for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People will be hosted by the Sahrawi people and will participate in the celebrations commemorating the 51st anniversary of the outbreak of the armed struggle, and will hold its fifth regular session at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to study the current international situation and address developments of the Sahrawi issue.
The session will also constitute - adds the statement - an opportunity to evaluate the work program issued by the previous session and the efforts made by the Diplomatic Forum in sensitive fields related to the Sahrawi issue, including the occupied territory, the legal battle, and others.
The Sahrawi government appreciated this step and considered the forum another building block on the right path that must be followed by all countries that call for justice and peace and support just causes in the world, including the Sahrawi issue as the last issue of decolonization, whose people are still waiting for the requirements of international legitimacy to be implemented to enable them the right to decide their destiny.
The statement indicated that the delegation's visit will enable it to get closer and learn more about the reality and steadfastness of the Sahrawi people, who continue their struggle to impose their choices for freedom and independence, in light of the growing victories achieved by the Sahrawi cause.
The Diplomatic Forum for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People includes ambassadors of friendly countries that have diplomatic relations with the Sahrawi Republic, including Algeria, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Angola, Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Colombia.
It’s worth mentioning that some of the ambassadors will present their credentials to the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, as ambassadors of their countries to the Sahrawi Republic.
