Shaheed Elhafed, May 11, 2024 (SPS) - The celebrations commemorating the 51st anniversary of the founding of the Polisario Front kicked off on Saturday in all the wilayas of the Republic. The events were attended by regional authorities, local and regional councils, and a large gathering of citizens.
During the celebration of this cherished anniversary for the Sahrawi people, the stages of the Polisario Front's establishment were reviewed, and the call to rally around it as the legitimate and sole representative of the Sahrawi people and to uphold national unity as a strategic choice for all Sahrawis was emphasized, along with continuing the path of the martyrs.
The celebrations also emphasized solidarity with the Sahrawi masses in the occupied territories, who face the aggression of the occupation on a daily basis, despite the repression and persecution it endures.
The event also served as an occasion to praise the military institution as a guarantor of existence and liberation, especially with the ongoing attacks of the units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army against the fortifications of the occupation soldiers along the Wall of Shame and Disgrace.
The Polisario Front enjoys a distinguished status as the legitimate and sole representative of the Sahrawi people and as a partner in the peace process in the region, recognized by the United Nations and all international organizations. In contrast, there is no state or organization that recognizes Morocco's expansionist claims in Western Sahara, which remains a decolonization issue according to the resolutions and recommendations of the UN General Assembly and the Security Council.
