President of Republic  receives credentials of new Ambassador of Nicaragua to Sahrawi Republic

Shaheed El Hafed - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, received the Credentials of His Excellency, Carlos Eduardo Díaz Moreira, as the new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua accredited to the Sahrawi Republic.

The official ceremony took place this morning at the Presidency of the Republic and was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Sidati.

In a statement to the media, the Nicaraguan ambassador affirmed that his meeting with the President of  Republic "represents the brotherhood and the recognition of the Nicaraguan people to the Sahrawi people who have the right to self-determination and independence," emphasizing that the Sandinista Front and the Polisario Front are united by brotherhood, solidarity and high and noble values.

He said that the meeting was an opportunity to conveythe greetings of the President of Nicaragua, H.E. Daniel Ortega Saavedra, and of the Nicaraguan people to the President of the Sahrawi Republic, Brahim Ghali.

Ambassador Carlos Eduardo Díaz Moreira had earlier handed over a copy of the Credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Sidati, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of  Hameida Hafed, Secretary General of the Ministry, and Musa Blal, Director of the Africa and African Union Department.

Nicaragua recognized the SADR in 1979. Since 2007, the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation have been strengthened in recent years.
