Shaheed El Hafed, 28 October 2026 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, received on Wednesday the South African ambassador accredited to the Sahrawi Republic at the Guest House in Shaheed El Hafed.
The meeting reaffirmed South Africa’s steadfast support for the Sahrawi people’s legitimate struggle and commended Pretoria’s efforts to defend African unity. Both sides highlighted their historic ties and shared commitment to combating colonialism.
The talks also addressed the latest developments in the Sahrawi cause at regional and international levels, particularly recent developments at the UN Security Council.
The South African ambassador arrived in the Sahrawi institutions on Tuesday and received a warm official and popular welcome in Smara Wilaya, where he joined demonstrations rejecting the US draft resolution.
