Shahid al-Hafed, October 19, 2023 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Republic chaired the extraordinary session of the African Union Specialized Technical Committee on Education, Science, Technology and Innovation held 18-19 October 2023.
The session, which was held via video conferencing technology, was chaired at the ministerial level by the Sahrawi Minister of Education and Vocational Training, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Khatri Addouh.
The session discussed issues related to education, science, technology and innovation on the African continent, as this committee decided to make the year 2024 a special year for education.
The extraordinary session was attended by Mr. Lamine Baali, Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
The ministerial meeting was preceded by experts meeting of member states chaired by the advisor in charge of the African Union affairs at the Sahrawi Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, Mr. Hamdi Salek Did.
