Wilaya of Dakhla (Refugee Camps), April 18, 2025 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, laid the foundation stone today for the construction of a new regional hospital in the wilaya of Dakhla. The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, members of the National Secretariat, the government, the Regional Council of wilaya of Dakhla, and medical staff.
The hospital, funded by the Ministry of Construction and Development of Liberated Territories in collaboration with the Ministries of Public Health and Cooperation, will include all healthcare facilities related to citizens' needs and is designed to meet the challenges posed by the harsh climatic conditions in the Sahrawi refugee camps. During the ceremony, detailed explanations were provided about the facilities and services of the new hospital. Subsequently, the President of the Republic visited the old hospital, where he met with the regional medical team, checked on patients' conditions, and listened to their concerns.
This event took place on the sidelines of the 10th Congress of the General Union of Sahrawi Workers (UGTSARIO), which kicked off today in the wilaya of Dakhla.
