Occupied El Aaiún, March 17, 2025 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation authorities brutally and violently assaulted two Sahrawi activists in occupied El Aaiún, following their stance demanding self-determination and the end of the occupation.

A human rights source informed the Sahrawi News Agency (SPS) that the two Sahrawi human rights defenders, Mahfouda Lefkir and journalist Salha Boutenguiza, were subjected to severe abuse on Smara Street in El Aaiún by members of the Moroccan occupation police. They were beaten and kicked all over their bodies, leaving them with deep wounds and injuries.

This crime was committed in retaliation against the two Sahrawi activists for their advocacy of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and the respect of human rights in Western Sahara.
