Occupied El Aaiún, 12 September 2026 (SPS)- The prisoners of the Gdeim Izik group have called on the Sahrawi people in the occupied territories of Western Sahara to boycott what they described as the “farce of Moroccan elections,” urging them to uphold revolutionary awareness, national identity, and the right to freedom and independence.
In a statement, the prisoners said that the Moroccan elections are a “political play aimed at entrenching the colonial status quo,” considering Sahrawi participation in them a form of legitimizing the occupation and liquidating the national cause.
They also called for rejecting all forms of normalization with the occupation’s institutions, stressing that the Sahrawi people’s resistance will remain civil and peaceful. They reaffirmed their commitment to the martyrs’ legacy and to the Polisario Front as the sole and legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people.
