Beirut (Lebanon), 2 November 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Students’ Union (UESARIO) is participating in the Mediterranean Committee meeting of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY), hosted by the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The Sahrawi delegation includes former Foreign Relations Officer Ali Omar El Bukhari, Foreign Relations Committee member Fatima Ibrahim, and Dakhia Mohamed, Vice-President of IUSY’s African Committee.
The programme includes workshops led by Lebanese government officials, academics and experts addressing current international political and ideological challenges.
The Sahrawi Students’ Union also contributed to a major workshop entitled “The Mediterranean at a Crossroads: Imperialism, Power Politics and the Crisis of the International Order”, chaired by Dakhia Mohamed and featuring Lebanese Minister of Culture Ghassan Salamé and IUSY President Sergio Amanti.
