Luanda (Angola), November 11, 2025 (SPS) – The President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, took part today, Tuesday, in the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence, at the invitation of his counterpart, President João Lourenço.
The ceremonies commemorating the 50th anniversary began with the arrival of President João Lourenço at the official podium, where the participating heads of state and government were gathered for the event.
In his address, President João Lourenço welcomed the delegations of heads of state, government leaders, and international organizations, expressing his gratitude for their presence and for sharing with the Angolan people the joy of celebrating fifty years of independence.
The Angolan president highlighted in his speech the achievements and progress Angola has made over the past 50 years across various sectors and at all levels, emphasizing Angola’s role as an active and influential force on the African continent.
The President of the Republic , Secretary-General of the Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, arrived Monday in the Angolan capital, Luanda, to participate in the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence, scheduled for November 11 and 12, at the invitation of his counterpart, João Lourenço.
President Brahim Ghali is accompanied by a delegation composed of Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, Secretary in charge of Research, Studies, and Information at the Secretariat of Political Organization, member of the National Secretariat, Maluma Larbas, Presidential Adviser Abdati Brieka, Chief of Presidential Protocol, Ambassador Salha El Abed, and the Sahrawi Ambassador to Angola, Hamdi Khalil Mayara.
