Shaheed El Hafed, October 14, 2025 (SPS) – The President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, praised the high level of unity and cohesion demonstrated by the Sahrawi people during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of National Unity.

In his speech while chairing an evaluation meeting on the celebration of the 50th anniversary of National Unity Day, President Brahim Ghali expressed his deep appreciation for the great efforts made by the masses to convey their sincere and powerful message — a message of unity and cohesion, addressed to both friend and foe — reaffirming the collective will to defend the Sahrawi people’s legitimate rights.

The President of the Republic emphasized that this spirit requires continuous faith, determination, and daily sacrifice. He commended the distinguished performance, generosity, and patience shown by the militants of the Polisario Front across all areas of presence — in the camps of dignity and freedom, within the ranks of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, in all state institutions, in the occupied territories, and among the diaspora — acknowledging their tireless efforts to make the voice of the struggling Sahrawi people heard.

President Ghali reaffirmed that the commemoration of National Unity comes at a sensitive and difficult time, similar to the political conditions faced by the Sahrawi people fifty years ago, in 1975. He recalled that the proclamation of national unity on October 12, 1975 was a decisive moment in the Sahrawi people's struggle and national liberation journey, through which they confronted campaigns of invasion, extermination, and division. The unity of the Sahrawi people with their sole and legitimate representative was evident, as was their steadfastness in defending the justice of their cause, confronting conspiracies, and consistently foiling them.

During the meeting, participants emphasized the profound message conveyed by the people, the active engagement of militants with the event, and the collective and individual efforts made at all levels to commemorate one of the greatest achievements of the Sahrawi people.

The meeting also reviewed various aspects of the celebration of the National Unity Day, focusing on lessons learned from both substantive and organizational observations, and on how to build on the strengths and successes achieved to ensure the success of future national events. Several related proposals were discussed concerning upcoming national occasions and the vital and decisive role of the masses in them.
