Auserd (Refugee Camps), October 12, 2023 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, affirmed that National Unity has consolidated the existence of the Sahrawi people, the justice of their cause, and the inevitability of their victory.
President Brahim Ghali, in his speech today during his supervision of the celebrations commemorating the forty-eighth anniversary of National Unity from the Wilaya of Auserd, said, “National Unity, led by the Polisario Front, in which the masses of our people from everywhere engaged with sincerity and enthusiasm, was the main gain, which consolidated forever the truth of the existence of the Sahrawi people, the justice of their cause, and the inevitability of their victory.”
The President of the Republic added that the Sahrawi people melted in one crucible, in one battle, in one fate, so the blood of their righteous martyrs and their great sacrifices mixed with sweat, tears and suffering, with all determination to achieve the inevitable victory.
Mr. Brahim Ghali recalled that the establishment of National Unity came after establishing the Polisario Front and the outbreak of the armed struggle, giving great gains and overwhelming victories that followed, and the building of national institutions, foremost of which is the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, the maker of glories and the preserver of dignity.
The President of the Republic went on to say, “National Unity was behind the establishment of the Sahrawi National Council and then the declaration of the Sahrawi Republic and its institutions, the state of all Sahrawi women and men, embodying their eternal will to live in dignity in a free, sovereign and independent homeland.”
He also called on the Sahrawi people to recall the circumstances and reasons that pushed the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia El Hamra and Rio de Oro to embark on a smart and ingenious path, led by dedicated men, first and foremost the martyr of freedom and dignity, the leader of the immortal May 20 Revolution, El-Wali Mustafa al-Sayid, who began with a series of intense contacts and deep discussions, on many fronts and in different locations, all the way to the historic Ain Bentili Declaration on October 12, 1975.
