Shaheed El-Hafed, June 3, 2025 (SPS) – The Secretary-General of the National Union of Sahrawi Women (NUSW), Ms. Shaba Seini, participated in a conference on the situation of women in Africa.
In her address during the virtual conference, she shed light on the situation of Sahrawi women, both in the Sahrawi refugee camps and in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
She called on all participants to stand in solidarity with Sahrawi women and to be their voice in their respective countries. She also extended an invitation for them to visit the occupied part of Western Sahara to witness firsthand the systematic human rights violations against Sahrawi women in the occupied cities, amid a deliberate media blackout. Additionally, she urged them to visit the Sahrawi refugee camps to observe the unique experience of Sahrawi women in building the institutions of the Sahrawi state, showcasing their rich contributions in social, economic, political, and cultural fields.
