Madrid (Spain), February 21, 2025 (SPS) - The Polisario Front expressed its condemnation of the expulsion of a delegation representing the European Parliament and its prevention from entering occupied El Aaiun, considering it a violation of the law and an attempt to conceal the crimes committed by the occupation against the Sahrawi people.

In a statement, the Polisario Front clarified that the expulsion and prevention of the delegation from entering the occupied territories reflect the aggressive Moroccan policy pursued against journalists and observers who seek to visit the occupied areas and assess the ground reality there. It also represents an attempt to hide its serious human rights violations against defenseless Sahrawis.

The Polisario Front urged European Union institutions to file a formal complaint with the Moroccan government regarding this incident and to take the necessary measures to ensure respect for the rights and work of European Union representatives.

In this context, the Moroccan occupation prevented a European parliamentary delegation from entering occupied El Aaiun on Thursday. The delegation intended to assess the extent of compliance with the ruling of the European Court of Justice issued last October.

The delegation included MEP Isabel Serra Sánchez (Podemos Party) from Spain, MEP Jussi Saramo (Left Alliance) from Finland, and MEP Catarina Martins (Left Bloc) from Portugal.
