June 9 School, January 14, 2025 (SPS) - A Spanish delegation from the Asturias region began Tuesday a working and solidarity visit to the Sahrawi National Council. They were received by the member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Mr. Hama Salama, and members of the National Council Bureau.
The Spanish delegation held a meeting with the President of the National Council, who gave a comprehensive briefing on the work and structures of the Sahrawi parliament, the representation of youth and women, and its oversight and legislative tasks.
The President of the National Council also addressed the role of parliamentary friendship committees in promoting parliamentary diplomacy and conveying the voice of the Sahrawi people to various forums.
The visit of the Spanish delegation to the Sahrawi National Council comes within the framework of celebrating the 30th anniversary of solidarity between Asturias and the Sahrawi people.
The Spanish delegation includes parliamentarians, the Director-General of the Asturian Agency for Development Cooperation, the President of the Asturian Union of Municipalities, trade unionists, mayors, municipal council members, and the President of the Asturian Association for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People.
