Nazare (Portugal), December 16, 2024 (SPS) - The Student Union of the Sakia El Hamra and Rio El Oro (UESARIO) participated in the 24th Congress of the Portuguese Socialist Youth, held in Nazare, Portugal, from December 13 to 15.
UESARIO was represented by Mamina Sheikh Malainin, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, who delivered a speech on behalf of the organization. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of cooperation among international student and youth organizations to face common challenges. He also highlighted the suffering of the Sahrawi people under Moroccan occupation, stressing their inalienable right to self-determination and independence, as well as the role of Sahrawi students and youth in defending their national cause.
On the sidelines of the Comgress, Mamina, accompanied by the representative of the Polisario Front in Portugal, Amih Omar, met with several prominent figures. The event was also an opportunity to meet with the new leadership of the Portuguese Socialist Youth, headed by the newly elected Secretary-General, and to exchange ideas with participating delegations, including the youth of the German Socialist Party and the youth of Cape Verde.
