Mexico City, 15 October 2026 (SPS) – President of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies’ Governing Board, Raúl Bolaños-Cacho Cué, received Sahrawi Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs Mohamed Yeslem Beissat during his official visit to Mexico.
At the start of the meeting, Bolaños-Cacho Cué welcomed the Sahrawi minister before the plenary session of the Chamber, highlighting the institutional and parliamentary significance of the visit.
Beissat briefed the Mexican side on the outcomes of his visit, including meetings with government representatives and legislative institutions. He expressed the Sahrawi government’s appreciation for the strong relations between the two countries, founded on friendship and cooperation.
For his part, the Mexican parliamentary leader reaffirmed Mexico’s commitment to the right of peoples to self-determination and to defending national sovereignty, stressing that these principles should be upheld internationally without exception.
Both sides reaffirmed the strong ties between the Sahrawi Republic and Mexico, as well as cooperation between their legislative institutions, and pledged to further strengthen bilateral relations and historical and cultural links between the two peoples.
