Brussels, 10 December 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi ambassador to Europe and European institutions, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Mansour Omar, stated that Europe is faced with two options: either respect the ruling of its court issued on October 4, which invalidated the trade agreement between the European Union and Morocco, or trample on the ruling.

During the proceedings of the "International Conference of Lawyers for Western Sahara," held at the European Parliament, Mansour Omar stressed, "Europe has two choices: either respect the recent ruling of its court issued on October 4, which nullified the agreement between the EU and Morocco, or trample on the decision and continue its policy of obstruction and violation of European judicial laws."

Mansour Omar criticized the positions of the Spanish Socialist Party, "which was initially among the first to advocate for the rights of the Sahrawi people," noting that "the positions of their leaders have turned over the years to become more hostile than the Moroccan occupation itself, to the extent that leaders of the Socialist Party mobilized to defend the occupation and work to legitimize it, supporting it in various forums."

He continued, "Instead of holding Spain accountable as the administering power of the territory and completing the decolonization process, they have turned it into a service for the Moroccan occupation and its interests, protecting it from punishment and obscuring its crimes against the Sahrawi people while working to institutionalize the plundering of Sahrawi resources and undermining their right to self-determination and sovereignty over their homeland and resources."

Regarding the position of the French president, the Sahrawi ambassador to Europe emphasized that "Macron's regime has been driven by failure at the internal level and within the European Union, as well as its significant failure in Africa, which continues to close its doors to his hegemony, leading him to publicly support Morocco and attempt to exploit it to maintain a foothold in Africa."
