Occupied El Aaiun, October 8, 2024 (SPS) - A founding assembly was held today, Tuesday, in the occupied city of El Aaiun to establish a new mechanism aimed at enhancing coordination and unifying struggle efforts in the occupied territories, coinciding with the anniversary of Sahrawi national unity.
The founding ceremony was attended by a number of human rights activists and representatives of the Sahrawi civil society, who gathered to discuss ways to confront the challenges facing the Sahrawi cause amid the current conditions.
The new mechanism aims to organize and unify the peaceful struggle movement within the occupied territories and to enhance communication among various Sahrawi actors, with the goal of achieving a common vision and better coordination of efforts to confront the ongoing human rights violations suffered by the Sahrawi people.
The meeting concluded with the issuance of a founding statement emphasizing the necessity of countering all attempts at division, reaffirming the commitment to the peaceful movement, and continuing the struggle to achieve the national goals of the Sahrawi people.
