The late African leader served for many years for the benefit of Namibia and Africa, where he was a loud voice in the skies of a continent torn by conflicts and wars, defending the freedom and independence of its people.

The Sahrawi collective memory retains a lot of pride in sisterly Namibia’s defense of the Sahrawis’ right to independence and building their independent state, and President Hage Geingob remained persistent in raising the grievances of the Sahrawis in all African and international forums until his passing away in early February of this year.

The late Namibian President Hage Geingob was born on August 3, 1941. He was one of the most prominent Namibian politicians. He served as the third President of Namibia from March 21, 2015, until his death on February 4, 2024. Furthermore, he was the first Prime Minister of Namibia from 1990 to 2002, and served as Prime Minister again from 2012 to 2015.

It’s worth mentioning that the President of the National Council was accompanied at the funeral ceremony by the Ambassador in Charge of Africa, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Beisat.
