
Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), March 3, 2025 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Minister of Health, H.E. Salek Baba Hasanna, received a letter of appreciation today, Wednesday, from the Director General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), recognizing the valuable participation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in the 3rd Annual High-Level Ministerial Forum of the Africa CDC Ministerial Executive Leadership Programme (MELP), held on February 13, 2025, at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In his letter, the Africa CDC Director General expressed his sincere gratitude to the Sahrawi Minister of Health for his presence and meaningful contributions to the discussions. The forum’s theme for this year was "Harnessing Political Commitment for an Adaptive and Resilient Health System: A Health Leadership Imperative in Africa."
The African health official emphasized the pivotal role played by Minister Salek Baba Hasanna in advancing the forum's objectives. He commended his contributions in highlighting the importance of collective leadership in shaping the future of health systems across Africa.
Moreover, the letter stressed that the discussions at the forum laid the groundwork for concrete actions to enhance the resilience of African health systems in the face of various challenges.
At the conclusion of his message, the Director General of Africa CDC reaffirmed his commitment to continuing collaboration with the Sahrawi Republic, expressing confidence that the spirit of partnership evident throughout the forum would shape future initiatives and health policy frameworks across Africa.
