Wilaya of Smara, February 27, 2025 (SPS) – The President of the Algerian Free Students' Alliance, Ms. Bounegga Amal, affirmed in a speech on behalf of the Algerian delegations participating in the 49th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Republic that their presence represents a "renewed pledge and steadfast loyalty" to the just cause of the Sahrawi people.
Amal Bounegga stated, "Our presence here, as representatives of the Algerian Free Students' Alliance and the state of Algeria, is not merely symbolic. It is a renewed pledge and unwavering loyalty to a just cause we believe in, just as we believe in our right to freedom and dignity. It is a cause intertwined with the spirit of the Algerian Revolution, which taught the world lessons in struggle, defiance, and resilience."
She added, "Today, we stand with pride and honor in the presence of history and in the presence of struggle and resilience, on a glorious anniversary that embodies the free will of a noble people who have not bowed to injustice or surrendered to the forces of occupation. It is the proud Sahrawi people who today celebrate the 49th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, a state born from the womb of struggle and one that will remain steadfast until the achievement of victory and full independence."
In her speech on behalf of the Algerian delegations, Amal Bounegga also emphasized that "the Sahrawi cause is not a fleeting political issue, but rather a matter of rights, dignity, and decolonization. We will never accept it being reduced to narrow calculations or distorted by campaigns of misinformation and evasion."
