Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), February 9, 2025 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, sent a condolence message to the President of Namibia, Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, expressing the condolences of the Sahrawi people and government on the passing of former President Sam Nujoma, who passed away today, Sunday, at the age of 95.
In his condolence message, President Brahim Ghali said that former President Sam Nujoma was a distinguished fighter for freedom and a leader of the South West Africa People's Organization SWAPO, which led the struggle for Namibia's liberation from occupation and apartheid rule.
The President added that the late Sam Nujoma spared no effort during his presidency in addressing the legacy of the past, achieving national reconciliation, and strengthening national identity and unity, which he considered prerequisites for achieving peace and development.
