Caracas (Venezuela), November 23, 2024 (SPS) - A Sahrawi delegation participated in the World Conference of Youth and Students Against Fascism, at the invitation of Venezuelan youth and students.
The conference included workshops addressing various topics to highlight the challenges faced by colonized peoples and proposed solutions to support their rights to self-determination.
The Secretary-General of the Students of Saguia El-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UESARIO), Khalihna El-Ghazwani, led one of the workshops, focusing on the vital role played by student movements in combating fascism and promoting the values of democracy and social justice.
The Secretary-General of the Youth Union of Saguia El-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UJSARIO), Ali Mohamed Salem, also led a workshop on the importance of culture as a struggle front for decolonization, where he emphasized the Sahrawi state's commitment to culture and national identity in light of numerous desperate attempts to erase it, reminding attendees that the Sahrawi Republic is the last colony in Africa.
The conference was attended by over 1,200 participants from 92 countries around the world, making it an important international platform for exchanging experiences and discussing perspectives on liberation issues and combating fascism in all its forms.
