Shaheed El Hafed, October 3, 2026 (SPS) – The Ministry of Public Health on Saturday held the 22nd Health Coordination and Consultation Roundtable, chaired by Member of the National Secretariat, Minister of Public Health Adda Ibrahim Ahmim, with the participation of officials and representatives of organizations and bodies supporting the health sector.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of Reconstruction of the Liberated Territories, and Transport and Energy; the Governor of the Political and Administrative Unit of Chahid El Hafed; senior officials from the Ministry of Public Health and the Sahrawi Red Crescent; and representatives of UNHCR, the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), UNICEF, the World Food Programme (WFP), and Doctors of the World Spain.
The first day featured presentations on the health strategic plan, key achievements and challenges, updates to the Health Information System, and gender and health care.
The roundtable also addresses several priority health programs, including the comprehensive Sahrawi child health program, the chronic diseases program, and the mental health program. It will also examine the state of healthcare and ways to improve the quality, sustainability and continuity of health services across healthcare and hospital facilities.
