Bir Lahlu (Sahrawi Republic), September 4, 2024 (WAS) - Mr. Brahim Ghali, President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polsario Front, sent letters of thanks and appreciation to both the President and Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, Ramos Horta and Xanana Gusmão, respectively.
The President of the Republic expressed his gratitude to the Timorese leadership and, through them, to the Timorese people for the kind invitation received by the Sahrawi Republic to participate in the celebrations commemorating the 25th anniversary of the popular consultation that culminated in the organization of a referendum for self-determination, leading to the country’s independence.
The President confirmed his confidence that East Timor, under their wise leadership, will continue on the path of construction, growth, and prosperity, in a context of unity and stability, and will enhance its regional, continental, and international standing, as evidenced by its entry into significant organizations, such as the World Trade Organization or ASEAN, among others.
