Accra (Ghana), August 14, 2025 (SPS) – Mr. Jeffrey Radebe, Special Envoy of the South African President to the African Political Parties Summit, has reiterated South Africa’s firm support for the Sahrawi cause in all international and continental forums.
This came during a meeting between Mr. Jeffrey Radebe and Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, member of the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, representative of the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, at the African Political Parties Summit in Ghana. The discussions reaffirmed South Africa’s unwavering stance on the Sahrawi issue and its commitment to defending it in international and continental platforms, including the African Political Parties Summit.
Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar delivered Wednesday a speech at the summit, emphasizing the Polisario Front’s deep commitment to the struggle for the respect of international law and for a strong, prosperous, and united Africa capable of resolving its internal issues independently. He called on attendees to make the summit a new collective starting point toward broader horizons, where African political parties serve the people, continental unity, and the future they aspire to build.
Additionally, he held meetings with several participating delegations and party leaders, discussing cooperation ties between the Polisario Front and these parties, as well as opportunities to strengthen them in ways that advance mutual interests—particularly in areas fostering development, prosperity, and stability.
