Algiers, 11 August 2024 (SPS) - The Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received Sunday in Algiers his Sahrawi counterpart, Mohamed Sidati, with whom he examined the developments of the decolonisation issue in Western Sahara, the ministry said in a press release.
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received today at the headquarters of the ministry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly country of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Mohamed Sidati,” the press release said.
The meeting enabled the two parties to “review the developments of the decolonization issue in Western Sahara, in light of the report recently presented by the Secretary-General of the United Nations concerning this issue, and in anticipation of the upcoming diplomatic events related to it, at the Security Council and the General Assembly of the UN,” the press release said.
The two parties also discussed “several issues on the African Union's continental agenda, as well as partnerships between the AU and various international actors.”
