Tunis, September 29, 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic is participating in a regional workshop dedicated to health ministers, held in the Tunisian capital, and organized by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The workshop, attended by health ministers from North African countries, as well as several ambassadors to the African Union, aims to establish the North Africa Regional Office on a practical basis, identify the region’s priorities and activities, and move from formal participation to effective engagement by the North Africa Centre in various areas of health.
On the occasion, the representative of the Sahrawi Republic, Minister of Public Health, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Adda Ibrahim Ahmim, delivered a speech focusing on the importance of health security. The ministers and ambassadors are expected to hold a closed-door session to address all outstanding issues.
The Minister of Public Health is accompanied at the meeting by Mr. Lamine Baali, Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to Addis Ababa and Permanent Representative to the African Union, and Dr. Bashir Saleh, Adviser to the Minister of Public Health in charge of African affairs.
