Pretoria (South Africa), July 15, 2024 (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister of Foreign Affairs, , Mohamed Sidati, has been received by his counterpart Ronald Ozzy Lamola, the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, at the beginning of a working visit to South Africa.
The meeting, attended by senior officials from the South African Foreign Ministry, before the two ministers met separately, after which the meeting was expanded to include members of the two delegations.
The ministers discussed the political situation on the African continent and the prospects for bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, as well as ways to strengthen and enhance them to be at the level of the historical relations that have long united the two countries and peoples.
After the meeting, the ministers gave a presentation to the national press, during which the Sahrawi minister expressed his full gratitude to the minister and the government of South Africa for the unwavering positions of support and solidarity they have always provided to the struggle of the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
For his part, the South African minister reiterated his country's steadfast position of unconditional solidarity and support for the struggle of the people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic for freedom and independence.
The ministers also expressed the convergence of visions and positions between the two countries on all issues related to bilateral relations and international and African issues that were discussed.
After the meeting, the South African minister hosted a luncheon in honor of the Sahrawi minister and his accompanying delegation, attended by senior officials from the ministry as well as the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic in South Africa, Mohamed Yeslam Baisat.
