New York, October 4, 2023 (SPS)- Venezuela reaffirmed before the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly its strong and firm support for the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and self-determination.
Venezuela called for a peaceful, just and lasting solution to the conflict in Western Sahara on the basis of the relevant General Assembly and UN Security Council resolutions.
In this regard, Venezuela renewed its support for the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Western Sahara, Mr. Staffan de Mistura, wishing him success in his mission and for the MINURSO mission to achieve its assigned mission of organizing a free and fair referendum in which the Sahrawi people freely decide their fate.
