Regional parliament in Brasilia hosts commemorative events for 51st anniversary of founding of Polisario Front

Brasilia (Brazil), May 11, 2024 (SPS) - The regional parliament in Brasilia hosted several solidarity events on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the founding of the Polisario Front.

The event was attended by diplomats, parliamentarians, unions, students, popular movements, as well as the Brazilian Solidarity Association with the Sahrawi people.

In this context, Deputy Max Maciel, on behalf of the parliamentary chamber, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of the event and its profound significance, expressing the Sahrawi people's steadfastness in their legitimate right to self-determination and independence.

For her part, the Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group and President of the Solidarity Association with the Sahrawi people, Deputy Erika Kokay, praised the great efforts made by the Sahrawi people in pursuit of their legitimate rights, highlighting their determination and resilience in continuing their struggle against Moroccan occupation until achieving their national sovereignty over the entire territory of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

The attendees also sent a message to Brazilian President Lula da Silva, calling for recognition of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
