Boujdour Wilaya, 3 November 2026 (SPS) – The Wilaya of Boujdour on Monday hosted the opening of the Regional Festival of Culture and Popular Arts, coinciding with the 19th edition of the International Artifariti Festival and the International Solidarity Festival for Human Rights and the Arts.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Minister of Culture Moussa Salma, in the presence of several government members, regional authorities, cultural figures and a large audience from the Wilaya of Boujdour.
The event aims to promote cultural and artistic expression, highlight the richness and diversity of Sahrawi popular heritage, and strengthen the role of culture and the arts in preserving national identity and passing collective memory on to younger generations.
The festivals also provide a platform for cultural exchange and artistic expression, enhancing the international visibility of Sahrawi culture and fostering engagement with international cultural and artistic experiences. They further reaffirm the role of culture in safeguarding national identity and strengthening international solidarity with the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and independence.
