Tayeb Seddik presents copies of credentials to Ghanaian Foreign Minister as SADR Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ghana

Accra (Ghana), 14 September 2026 (SPS) – Sahrawi Ambassador Mr. Tayeb Seddik on Monday presented copies of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to the Republic of Ghana, during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital, Accra.

The Sahrawi ambassador handed copies of his credentials to Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in the presence of several of the minister’s aides and officials from the Africa and Protocol Directorates of the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the Ghanaian Foreign Minister reaffirmed the steadfast position of the Government of the Republic of Ghana on the Sahrawi issue.

He expressed his country’s readiness to continue and strengthen coordination and joint action between Ghana and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, in a manner that serves bilateral cooperation, while maintaining consultations on various regional and international issues of common interest.

For his part, the Sahrawi ambassador, on behalf of the Government and people of the Sahrawi Republic, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for Ghana’s principled and steadfast position on the just Sahrawi cause and the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

Mr. Tayeb Seddik also noted that the relations between the Sahrawi Republic and the Republic of Ghana are founded on a historic legacy of African solidarity and shared principled positions. He expressed his aspiration to continue working to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and peoples in various fields.

He conveyed, on behalf of the Government and people of the Sahrawi Republic, his best wishes to the Republic of Ghana and its people for further progress, advancement and prosperity.

Meanwhile, the talks between the two sides concluded by reaffirming the strength and solidity of Sahrawi-Ghanaian bilateral relations, as well as the shared determination to broaden their horizons, thereby strengthening solidarity and cooperation between the two peoples and serving the objectives of peace, stability and continental integration.
