Sahrawi Red Crescent reports material losses in wilayas due to strong winds

Shaheed El Hafed, February 28, 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Red Crescent has recorded significant material losses in the wilayas as a result of the strong winds that have affected the refugee camps in recent days.

In a statement issued by its Central Directorate of Information and Awareness, the organization confirmed that considerable material damage was recorded to both public and private property, with no fatalities reported.

The statement added that tents collapsed or were torn apart, in addition to the destruction of some public and private structures, with some huts and makeshift shelters being blown away.

It also reported the loss and damage of certain personal belongings.
