Madrid (Spain), July 16, 2025 (SPS) – The Spanish Congress of Deputies received today, Wednesday, a group of Sahrawi children who have come to spend their summer holidays in Spain as part of the Holidays in Peace program.
The event, organized by the Peace and Freedom for the Sahrawi People Group, was attended on the Sahrawi side by the Polisario Front's representative in Spain, Abdellah Larabi, accompanied by Khadijetou El Mokhtar, the Polisario Front's representative in Madrid, in an atmosphere of solidarity, commitment, and support for the Sahrawi cause.
Also present at the event were representatives from institutions, political and media figures, and civil society representatives.
The Sahrawi children received a special welcome from the Second Vice President of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, and members of the Sumar, Más Madrid and People's Party political parties.
The occasion was an opportunity for the political parties present to reiterate their support for the program and urge continued commitment to finding a just and lasting solution for Western Sahara.
The Polisario Front's representative in Spain, Abdellah Larabi, praised the host families' commitment and unconditional solidarity, emphasizing the importance of such events for their humanitarian and political dimensions.
