Madrid (Spain), 04 June 2025 (SPS) – Members of the Freedom March has been received at the headquarters of the Spanish Parliament in Madrid.
The meeting served as an opportunity to highlight the situation of Sahrawi political prisoners and the acts of torture they endured during interrogation and within Moroccan prisons. These allegations were confirmed by decisions of the Committee Against Torture (CAT) while reviewing the complaint filed by their defense team in collaboration with human rights organizations.
Members of the Spanish Parliament’s Parliamentary Group on Western Sahara affirmed their determination to hold the Spanish government accountable regarding the plight of Sahrawi political prisoners, and the harassment faced by Freedom March members and their accompanying delegation by individuals identified as Moroccan police officers on Spanish territory in the city of Algeciras.
