Shaheed El Hafed, June 11, 2026 (SPS) – The Presidency of the Republic held a memorial ceremony on Thursday in honor of the late member of the National Secretariat, Commander of the First Field Brigade, Lehbib Mohamed Abdelaziz, along with his fellow heroic martyrs.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, members of the National Secretariat and the government, members of the National Council, representatives of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army, representatives of various national institutions and Sahrawi civil society organizations, as well as the family of the deceased.
During the ceremony, speakers paid tribute to the martyr’s virtues and qualities, highlighting his contributions throughout a distinguished struggle marked by numerous achievements in the various fields and leadership positions entrusted to him within the military institution, where he rose through its ranks over the years.
The Presidency of the Republic had previously announced the death of the field commander and National Secretariat member, Lehbib Mohamed Abdelaziz, commander of the First Field Reserve Brigade, who was martyred in the line of duty alongside two fellow soldiers on Sunday, June 7, 2026. It also declared three days of national mourning in his honor.
