Sahrawi Ambassador Abah El Mad presents his credentials to South African President

Pretoria (South Africa), April 8, 2026 (SPS) – Abah El Mad presented his credentials today, Wednesday, to South African President H.E. Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, in his capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sahrawi Republic to South Africa.

During the meeting, President Ramaphosa expressed great interest in the Sahrawi cause, reaffirming his country’s support for it.

President Cyril Ramaphosa reiterated his steadfast support for the Sahrawi people and their legitimate right to freedom and independence.

The Sahrawi ambassador conveyed to the South African President the greetings of his brother, President Ibrahim Ghali, as well as the gratitude of the Sahrawi people for South Africa’s consistent and supportive stance toward their cause in all international forums.

The ambassador also briefed the South African President on the latest developments regarding the Sahrawi issue, emphasizing the Sahrawi people’s firm commitment to their right to self-determination and independence.

The credential presentation ceremony was attended by officials from the South African Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
