Sidi Haiba Abbas presents credentials as representative of Sahrawi Republic to SADC

Gaborone (Botswana), April 2, 2026 (SPS) – The Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to Botswana, Mr. Haiba Abbas, officially presented his credentials to the Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Mr. Elias Magosi, in his capacity as Permanent Representative of the Sahrawi Republic to the regional organization.

During the credential presentation ceremony, Ambassador Sidi Haiba Abbas conveyed the warm greetings of the Government of the Sahrawi Republic to the leadership of SADC, expressing deep appreciation and gratitude for the steadfast and unwavering support the organization has extended to the Sahrawi people over the years.

For his part, Executive Secretary Elias Magosi reaffirmed SADC’s full commitment to continuing the struggle for the Sahrawi people’s right to full independence and to ending the colonial situation imposed on Western Sahara. He also stressed the importance of fully implementing the resolutions adopted at the latest SADC Summit, held in Antananarivo, Republic of Madagascar.
