Maputo (Mozambique), February 19, 2026 (SPS) – Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ahmed presented his credentials to Mozambican President Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sahrawi Republic to Mozambique.
During the reception held at the President’s office in the capital, Maputo, the Mozambican President reaffirmed his country’s firm and supportive position toward the Sahrawi people and their legitimate right to freedom and independence, noting that this stance stems from the principles of the Mozambican revolution and its history of liberation.
For his part, the Sahrawi Ambassador conveyed to His Excellency President Daniel Francisco Chapo the greetings of his brother, the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, as well as the gratitude and appreciation of the Sahrawi people to the Republic of Mozambique—its government and people—for their strong support of their legitimate struggle for self-determination and full independence.
He also affirmed that he would work diligently to strengthen the historic relations linking the two brotherly countries and peoples.
