Auserd Wilaya, 30 November 2025 (SPS) – The 11th congress of the Sahrawi Youth Union of Saguia El-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UJSARIO) concluded its work on Sunday night, after five days of deliberations, by stressing the importance of acknowledging the current circumstances surrounding the national cause in order to decisively win the fateful battle.
The congress leadership stressed that everyone—especially the youth—must take into account the current situation and intensify efforts to achieve the Sahrawi people’s ultimate goals of freedom and independence.
The congress reaffirmed the pioneering role of Sahrawi youth in both the liberation and nation-building struggles, urging them to continue their efforts, sacrifices, dedication, and service to the people in order to achieve their legitimate goals of return and full independence, according to the final statement that concluded the congress.
At the end of its proceedings, the congress emphasized the need for greater dedication in serving the youth and the Sahrawi cause.
The congress elected a new leadership for the Union (the Secretary-General and the Executive Bureau), re-electing Ali Mohamed Salem as Secretary-General for a second four-year term, along with a new Executive Bureau.
