Shaheed Al Hafed, June 20, 2025 (SPS) – The National Union of Sahrawi Women (NUSW) paid tribute to the steadfastness and patience of Sahrawi refugee women, who endure the hardships of displacement and exile in their struggle to reclaim full sovereignty over the territory of the Sahrawi Republic.
In a statement marking World Refugee Day, the NUSW praised the unparalleled resilience demonstrated by Sahrawi refugee women, emphasizing that they have not surrendered to the realities of refuge, occupation, and dispersion. Instead, they have shaped their imposed circumstances through hard work and perseverance, becoming pillars of resistance and struggle. With dignity, they have faced life's harshness while raising generations of activists firmly committed to the justice of their national cause.
The statement reaffirmed the Sahrawi refugee women's unwavering commitment to the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and self-determination through national independence, highlighting how their struggle embodies the noblest forms of resistance and endurance.
The NUSW renewed its call to the international community to uphold its historical and legal responsibilities toward the Sahrawi refugee issue and to ensure their right to return to a free and independent homeland.
