Algiers, May 27, 2025 (SPS) – The Embassy of the Sahrawi Republic in Algeria took part in the celebrations of Africa Day, observed annually on May 25 as a symbol of African liberation and the struggle against colonialism and racial discrimination.
The event saw the participation of various African embassies accredited in Algeria.
The Sahrawi participation featured a photography exhibition highlighting the Sahrawi Republic’s presence in Africa and the continent’s role in embracing the Sahrawi cause, defending the Sahrawi people’s right to freedom and independence. The exhibition underscored the Sahrawi issue as the last decolonization case in Africa, noting how the Sahrawi Republic has become a full-fledged member with a significant role in the Organization of African Unity (OAU) later the African Union (AU).
The Sahrawi Embassy also showcased a selection of traditional dishes and meals, symbolizing Sahrawi identity and culture.
