June 9 School, January 22, 2025 (SPS) - The National Council held a general session today, chaired by National Secretariat member, National Council President, Mr. Hamma Salama, with the presence of members from both the legislative and executive bodies.
The session focused on reviewing the work of the specialized committees of the National Council with the executive sectors in discussing the government program for 2025 and the important amendments and proposals made to enrich the annual government program.
During the session, the committees presented draft programs for their respective sectors after discussing and agreeing on the format to be presented to the general session for the final preparation of the annual government program before it is submitted for a vote, as stipulated by the organic law regulating the work of the National Council and the functional relationship between the National Council and the government.
After presenting the committees' work, the floor was opened for interventions from National Council members, addressing key concerns expressed during the evaluation process and urging their inclusion in the new program while responding to weaknesses identified in various aspects of government work.
It is noteworthy that the agenda of the autumn session included the annual evaluation of the government program for 2024 and the presentation and approval of the government program for 2025.
