National Council, January 20, 2025 (SPS) - The National Council held a general session today, Monday, chaired by National Secretariat member and President of the National Council, Mr. Hama Salama, with the presence of members from both the legislative and executive bodies.
The session was dedicated to presenting the Annual Government Program For 2025 as part of the work of the National Council's Autumn session.
National Secretariat member, Prime Minister, Mr. Bouchraya Hamoudi Beyoun, presented the main axes and objectives of the program. He emphasized that the preparation of the Government Program for 2025 was guided by key references, including the National Work Program issued by the 16th Congress of the Polisario Front and decisions from National Secretariat sessions. It also drew on the results of performance evaluations conducted during 2024. He added that the program took into account the surrounding circumstances of the national cause, characterized by multiple challenges, and the need for mobilization and the gathering of efforts, resources, and capabilities across all fronts of national work.
The Prime Minister discussed the major objectives of the 2025 Government Program, highlighting that the top priority is to contribute to enhancing the readiness of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army and strengthening its combat capabilities during the liberation struggle, aiming to complete sovereignty and embodying the slogan of the last conference: "Escalating the Fight to Expel the Occupation and Complete Sovereignty." Additionally, there is a focus on resistance in the occupied territories and southern Morocco, along with the development of all possible means to support the independence uprising.
