Agadir (Morocco), January 7, 2025 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation court in Agadir issued an unjust verdict on Monday, sentencing students Hussein Bourkaba and Ayman El Yetrabi to two years in prison, according to a Sahrawi human rights source.

According to the same source, the two Sahrawi student prisoners, Hussein Bourkaba and Ayman El Yetrabi, appeared in court while in detention, where they faced fabricated charges of theft and participation in assault, despite some witnesses retracting their statements. The Sahrawi students denied the accusations against them.

Previously, on June 6, 2024, the court in Agadir had issued an initial unjust ruling against the Sahrawi civilian prisoners, Hussein Bourkaba and Ayman El Yetrabi, sentencing them to ten years in prison due to their student and political activities advocating for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence.

The two Sahrawi students, Ayman El Yetrabi and Hussein Bourkaba, were arrested on January 23, 2024, and March 12, 2024, following conflicts and provocations from Moroccan students who support the official Moroccan stance on the issue of the occupied Western Sahara.
